Green Velvet Brings Techno to The Stage
The Pueblo of Santa Ana, N.M. – March 4, 2016

The Pueblo of Santa Ana, N.M. – March 4, 2016 – Santa Ana Star Casino, New Mexico’s Best Bet, welcomes techno music producer, songwriter and DJ Green Velvet to The Stage on Saturday, March 12. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Green Velvet, known by day as Curtis Jones, did not always aspire to be a musician. He studied chemical engineering at the University of Illinois and was mid-way through his master’s program at the University of California in Berkley when he returned to Chicago and began producing music under the moniker “Cajmere.” Deeply rooted in the legendary Chicago house sound, his releases were widely praised and his collaboration with Dajae, “Brighter Days,” hit No. 2 on Billboard’s U.S. Dance Chart. In order to keep pushing his boundaries, he created an eccentric, experimental alter ego, Green Velvet, to develop his own techno-based sound in 1993. Championing the new wave Chicago beat, Green Velvet became a staple of the scene, best known for tracks including “Preacher Man,” “Flash,” “Answering Machine” and the smash hit, “La La Land.” In 2015, Green Velvet teamed up with fellow DJ and producer Claude VonStroke to form another side project—the electronic duo “Get Real.” The duo performed at elite music festivals in 2015 including Las Vegas’s Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) and Ultra Music Festival (UMF) in Miami. Green Velvet also performed a solo set at Tomorrowland in Belgium the same year.

General admission tickets for Green Velvet’s performance at The Stage at Santa Ana Star Casino cost $15 each. Tickets can be purchased online at www.thestageatthestar.com. Private VIP sections with bottle service are also available. Call (505) 771-5353 for more information about VIP services or to book a VIP section.

Doors open at 9 p.m. Guests must be 21 years old or older to attend. For more information, please call (505) 771-5680.
