Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel, New Mexico's Best Bet, welcomes world famous filmmaker and entertainment icon Kevin Smith to The Stage on Friday, June 1, and Saturday, June 2. Each night Smith will host a fan-based question and answer session called "An Evening with Kevin Smith," at 7 p.m. Then at 9:30 p.m., he will be joined by fellow "Clerks" star Jason Mewes as the duo shares stories from their past during a live recording of the podcast "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old."
A prolific filmmaker, actor, comedian, author and podcaster with a career spanning nearly three decades, Kevin Smith is a fixture of modern entertainment. He broke into the industry in 1994 with the debut of "Clerks," an independent film he wrote, directed, coproduced and costarred in alongside Jason Mewes. "Clerks" won Sundance Film Festival's "Filmmakers Trophy" and the "Prix de la Jeunesse" and "International Critics' Week Mercedes-Benz Award" at Cannes International Film Festival. Over the years, Smith's film credits have come to include cult classics such as "Mallrats," "Chasing Amy," "Dogma," "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back," "Clerks 2" and many others. Smith has authored five books, and he has contributed to several well-known stories for both Marvel Comics and DC Comics. He also owns the Smodcast Podcast Network, a collection of popular podcasts including Smith's "Smodcast," "Jay and Silent Bob Get Old," "Hollywood Babble On," "Fatman on Batman" and others.
