Recycle Retired Electronics Today at Santa Ana Star Casino
The Pueblo of Santa Ana, N.M. – Sept. 24, 2016

Santa Ana Star Casino, New Mexico's Best Bet, is teaming up with Albuquerque Recycling, Inc. to keep electronics out of landfills and protect the environment by hosting an e-recycling event. Guests are invited to drop off retired and unwanted electronics for recycling at the casino today, Sept. 24, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

"According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average household uses nearly 30 electronic products and with technology advancing at such a high rate, we are replacing those electronics at a faster rate than ever before," said Santa Ana Star Casino Director of Marketing Tammy Neil. "Santa Ana Star Casino is proud to help our neighbors and the community combat the growing e-waste problem by giving them an opportunity to recycle their retired electronics in an environmentally-friendly way. With easy, curbside drop-off, this event is a fast and convenient way to do the right thing and keep the Land of Enchantment beautiful."

At Santa Ana Star Casino's e-recycling event, Albuquerque Recycling, Inc. will be accepting computers, printers, monitors, cell phones, stereos, computer accessories, blue ray and DVD players, gaming systems, satellite equipment and much more. While many items will be accepted free of charge, recycling fees apply to some electronics including printers, CRT (cathode ray tube) monitors and microwaves.

NO TELEVISIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THIS EVENT.

The EPA reports that nearly 2 million tons of computer products, cell phones and other forms of electronic waste were discarded in 2013. Although the rate of electronics recycling has more than doubled in recent years, electronics remains one of the fastest-growing categories of municipal waste.
