Santa Ana Star Casino Celebrates Cantina Rio Grand Opening
The Pueblo of Santa Ana, N.M. – May 4, 2017

Santa Ana Star Casino, New Mexico's Best Bet, is set to host a Cinco de Mayo-inspired grand opening celebration for its newest casino restaurant, Cantina Rio, on Friday, May 5. The grand opening festivities kickoff at 11 a.m. and continue throughout the day and night with food and drink specials, giveaways, prizes, live music and more.

"We are proud and excited to introduce Cantina Rio to the local area. The 'Cantina' was created for locals to relax and have fun," said Santa Ana Star Casino General Manager John Cirrincione. "The eclectic interior design combined with freshly prepared food and a tantalizing selection of drinks is entirely aimed at creating a positive vibe. We already have an outstanding reputation for the friendliest staff, and Cantina Rio gives us that 'fun' outlet that perfectly meshes with our culture."

Cantina Rio's grand opening celebration will begin at 11 a.m. with food and drink specials. Appetizers will be half-price, and all guests ordering a specialty margarita will get to keep the limited edition Cantina Rio margarita glass. There will also be giveaways for prizes including souvenir glassware and special merchandise. Mariachi Nuevo Mexico will perform live both in the cantina and throughout the casino floor from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Then at 10 p.m., Reviva will perform inside Cantina Rio, delivering its unique fusion of reggae and rock music.

Cantina Rio is Santa Ana Star Casino's fourth and newest full-scale casino restaurant, joining Feast Buffet, Mesa Grille and Starlight Bar & Grill. Situated in the northeast corner of the casino, urban funk meets rustic charm as the restaurant's design features a combination of exposed brick, steampunk fixtures, rustic wood accents, eclectic décor and a sprawling, copper-topped, four-sided bar.

Cantina Rio's menu includes a variety of New Mexican, Mexican, Italian and American entrees, as well as an array of appetizers and desserts and an extensive bar selection of specialty margaritas, hand-crafted cocktails and choice beers and wines.

"We are all about offering our guests great value," said Cirrincione. "Entrees cost $8 to $11 and drinks are reasonably priced. Plus, guests can add red or green chile to any meal for free."

Cantina Rio is open daily at 11 a.m. It closes at 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and at 1 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Live entertainment is offered inside the restaurant every Friday and Saturday beginning at 10 p.m. showcasing high-energy local and regional bands.

Guests must be 21 years old or older to be in Cantina Rio after 9 p.m. nightly.
