The Stage Presents Iconic Comedian Louie Anderson
The Pueblo of Santa Ana, N.M. – Feb. 11, 2019

Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel, New Mexico's Best Bet, welcomes three-time Emmy-Award-winning comedic legend Louie Anderson to The Stage on Saturday, Feb. 16. He will perform two shows beginning at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Anderson is one of the country's most recognized and adored comics with more than three decades of experience entertaining audiences with his work on stage and in television and film. He made his national television debut on "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" in 1984 and quickly became a regular featured comic on the show. From there, Anderson made numerous appearances on other late-night television shows and wrote and performed stand-up comedy specials for Showtime and HBO that centered on the ups and downs of his childhood experiences as one of eleven children growing up in Minnesota. In 2016, he was cast as Christine Baskets in the FX comedy series, "Baskets," and that same year, took home the Primetime Emmy Award for "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series," for the role. To play the character, Anderson channels his mother, whom he has often referenced throughout his career in comedy.

In addition to "Baskets," Anderson created the hit animated series, "Life with Louie," which was loosely based on his childhood relationships with his family and earned him multiple awards including three Humanities Prizes for children's animation writing and two Daytime Emmy Awards for "Performer in an Animated Program." Other notable credits include hosting the legendary game show, "Family Feud," and appearances in feature films including "Coming to America," and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." He's also a best-selling author with his latest book, "Hey Mom," paying tribute to his mother. The book is written as a series of letters and details his triumphs, disappointments and continuing challenges.

Tickets to Louie Anderson's performances at The Stage at Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel range between $25 and $45 and can be purchased online at www.thestageatthestar.com. Attendees must be 21 years old or older. For more information, please call (505) 771-5680.
