The Stage Welcomes DJ Z-Trip

Santa Ana Star Casino, New Mexico's Best Bet, welcomes EDM (electronic dance music) DJ and producer DJ Z-Trip to The Stage on Saturday, Dec. 9. Doors open at 9 p.m.

Although his musical roots trace back to hip-hop, DJ Z-Trip's career as a professional musician took off in 2001 following his critically acclaimed collaboration with DJ P, "Uneasy Listening, Vol. 1." Now known as "the godfather of mash-ups," he continues to make music that effortlessly crisscrosses genres including hip-hop, EDM, old school and alternative rock. In 2005, DJ Z-Trip released his debut album, "Shifting Gears," which received four stars from Rolling Stone Magazine and featured collaborations with musicians including Supernatural, Murs, Linkin Park's Chester Bennington and Public Enemy's Chuck D among others. He has since performed at high profile music festivals including Coachella and Lollapalooza, and joined forces with LL Cool J in 2012 for a performance at Austin's South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) followed by the national "Kings of the Mic" tour. In addition to performing, DJ Z-Trip has also scored soundtracks for documentaries and films including "Infamy," "Warrior" and "Battle of the Year," as well as video games such as EA Games's "Madden" series and Activision's "DJ Hero" series.
