The Pueblo of Santa Ana, N.M. – Sept. 30, 2019 – Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel, New Mexico’s Best Bet, welcomes popular stand-up comedian and podcaster Doug Benson to The Stage on Saturday, Oct. 5, beginning at 4:20 p.m.
Stand-up comedian Doug Benson is notorious for his silly style comedy, his avocation of marijuana rights and his infamously hilarious comedy podcasts. Having been in the comedy game since the late 80’s, Benson initially began performing stand-up, entertaining audiences with cleverly crafted puns and a unique style of comedy that is equal parts strange and hilarious. He was chosen by Comedy Central to write and perform for the network and eventually parlayed his successful stand-up career into film and television roles. He starred in the 2007 hit documentary, “Super High Me,” which followed Benson as he discovered the effects of smoking marijuana for 30 days straight. He then made occasional acting appearances on TV shows like “@midnight,” “Trailer Park Boys,” and “You’re the Worst,” and in the movies “The Greatest Movie Ever Rolled,” and “Chronic-Con: Episode 420.” He hit the high mark, though, when he created the popular comedy podcast and YouTube show, “Getting Doug with High.” The series documents the eventual absurdities that ensue when guests such as comedians Jack Black, Tiffany Haddish, Pete Holmes and Natasha Leggero, are interviewed as they smoke marijuana alongside Benson.
Tickets to Doug Benson’s performances at The Stage at Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel are $23 and can be purchased online at www.thestageatthestar.com. Attendees must be 21 years old or older. For more information, please call (505) 771-5680.
